GOMA is always keen to take such initiatives that help our society to become better tomorrow. GOMA joined hands with the Rotary Club of Thane to organize a voluntary blood donation camp and Thalassemia test of their employees and relatives.

Every tomorrow needs a blood donor today. However, within a few days of blood donation, our body produces new fluids in the place of old ones. We have successfully collected 50 units of blood during this voluntary blood donation campaign that drives support and life to the needy ones.

We believe everyone should take a step towards the society to donate blood because in India more than 4 crore blood units are in demand out of which only 5 lakh units are only available. Our small steps can change or save someone's life, that too with our benefit. Our benefit? Yes, blood donation benefits us as well, let's dig into this.

Well, along with the blood donation GOMA also has managed to organize a free Thalassemia test camp for their employees and their relatives. First of all, what is Thalassemia? This is an inherited blood disorder that can be passed by the parents, in this disease a person is unable to generate enough protein which leads to a low rate of Haemoglobin in the body.

What happens if you test positive for Thalassemia?

Thalassemia reduces the rate of Haemoglobin which causes Anemia. If you have Thalassemia, these symptoms can be found in your body given below:

• Fatigue

• Weakness

• Pale Skin

• Slow Growth

• Abdominal swelling

• Dark Urine

• Facial Bone Deformities

And most importantly if person A has mild Thalassemia and his/her partner has mild Thalassemia then the chance of having a Thalassemia positive kid increases in the future. Thus, is it suggested to take a test of Thalassemia by doctors and we understand the core of this pain. For the betterment of our employees and their friends & family, we took this initiative to conduct a free Thalassemia test along with the blood donation camp.

No business can grow if their society can't grow. Thus, we goal to grow together along with our healthy society. GOMA has/is/will be serving its role towards society with honesty and responsibility.
